The average age of a typical vehicle on the road today is a record-breaking 11.5 years according to a recent study by the IHS Automotive. Professional racecar driver Arie Luyendyk Jr. shares his perspective on car care, offers tips to drivers for easy projects you can do at home to save money and extend the life of your vehicles.

Arie Luyendyk Jr. is the son of two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Arie Luyendyk. Arie Jr. has been racing nearly all his life. Beginning with go-karts at age ten and progressing through the ranks, he has competed in various racing series and events, including the 12 Hours of Sebring and the 24 Hours of Daytona. Most notably, the Scottsdale, AZ based driver was a Championship contender in each of his four full seasons of Indy Lights from 2003 to 2006, with a win in Chicagoland in 2008. Arie currently drives the #25 GUNK Pro 2 truck in the TORC series and also took home the Off Road Truck Racing bronze medal at this year's X Games in Austin.
