LA Auto Show: 2013 Toyota RAV4

The 2013 Toyota RAV4 was revealed today at the LA Auto Show. I just have to start off by saying that I am really impressed with the exterior and interior designs of the new RAV4. The 2013 RAV4 will come in three trim levels: LE, XLE, and Limited. The RAV4 will still use a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that now produces 176 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque. This engine will now be paired with a new 6-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy for the RAV4 is 24 city and 31 hwy for front-wheel drive models; all-wheel drive models achieve 22 city and 29 hwy. AWD models now have three drive modes: Auto, Lock, and Sport. In Sport model 50% of power can be sent to the rear wheels.

Standard options include Bluetooth connectivity, 6.1 inch  display, backup camera, and steering wheel audio controls. Toyota has decided to drop the V6 engine as well as the 3rd row option. The 2013 Toyota RAV4 will go on sale in the Spring of 2013.

The Green Light: I have never been a huge fan of Toyota's car designs but the RAV4 certainly has me interested. I think I am more excited about the interior of the RAV4 than the exterior. Just on looks alone I have to give Toyota credit for creating a vehicle that isn't so bland!
